The art exhibition “Beyond the Barriers”, organized by the Association ArtAndCharity ODV at the Ubik Bookstore in Varese was inaugurated on Saturday, November 9th.
It is a special event, conceived and curated by Manuela Codazzi, who has gathered nationally and internationally renowned artists for a project with a strong social impact.
The exhibition aims to be an opportunity to reflect on the theme of disability through the universal language of art.
Through artistic and photographic works, the art exhibition BEYOND THE BARRIERS aims to stimulate a reflection on the social, physical, and psychological challenges that often represent "barriers" in daily life.
The curator's goal of drawing artists from the national and international scene has given a new and different dimension to the event, offering an unusual and more open approach without geographical or formal constraints.
The exhibition path is particularly engaging as the large works on display facilitate the viewer to immerse themselves among the touching works that highlight stories of people living in difficult situations and prejudices, offering a message of hope and solidarity.
Each work is accompanied by a description that illustrates the context and meaning of the piece, thus fostering a deeper understanding of the experiences narrated.
The artists present are:
Roberto Caielli (photography), Stefano Ceretti (photography), Giuseppe Cozzi (photography), Paul Albert Dari (painting), Mauro Garofalo (graphic art), Grazia Giani (painting), Gianni Landonio (painting), Silvio Monti (Guest Artist), Paola Ponzellini (painting), Monica M. Rossi (painting) and Giovanni Tommasi (photography).
This exhibition not only values art as a tool of expression but as a means to break down cultural and social barriers, actively involving the Varese community and spectators in a dialogue on empathy, acceptance, and solidarity.
The vernissage took place with a concert with the eloquent title, "Music-Abilmente". A unique and powerful program engaged the audience present in Piazza del Podestà thanks to the exceptional talent of Alessandra Sonia Romano on the violin, Nadio Marenco on the accordion, and the narrating voice of Elda Olivieri.
The concert offered an emotional journey, interpreting themes related to disability with sensitivity and intensity, and was well received by the large audience in attendance.
The live broadcast was transmitted by Radio Village Network, the web radio of Bodio Lomnago, always close to social issues and the world of disability.
During the Vernissage, interesting interviews were conducted with the President of the ARTandCHARITY Association, Giovanni Tommasi, the curator of the exhibition, Manuela Codazzi, the General Director of Focaccia Group, Dr. Rocco Scocozza, the Director of Coop. Soc. Magari Domani Onlus Andrea Avila, and M° Mario Roncuzzi who delivered a touching speech on the theme of disability as a condition he personally experiences with great strength, dignity, and courage, never abandoning the passion of his life: Music.
The event also featured demonstrations of vehicles specially adapted for disabled mobility thanks to the collaboration with Focaccia Group and Dalma ForYou, which, thanks to the presence of their technicians, allowed attendees to learn about new technologies supporting greater inclusivity.
The event was sponsored by the Lombardy Region, the Province of Varese, and the Municipality of Varese.
The support offered by the volunteers of the Associazione Nazionale Carabinieri of Varese, Cristina, Clara, and Luca from the Libreria Ubik, and the art portal ArtistaOnLine was extremely valuable.
We remind you that the exhibition will remain open until Saturday, November 16th.
