An enthusiastic audience filled the evocative Sala Dal Bello in Sumirago (VA) on Saturday, November 23, for the seventh concert of the series Reviviscenze Musicali 2024, organized by ARTandCHARITY in collaboration with the Fondazione Jupiter. The evening, dedicated to the Day Against Violence Against Women, was a blend of emotions, music, and solidarity.

A heartfelt introduction

The president of the association, Giovanni Tommasi, opened the event with words of thanks addressed to the Municipal Administration, the mayor Ivonne Beccegato, Maurizio Falcetti, president of the Pro Loco, and Nicoletta Mattarello, the historic librarian of the Municipality of Sumirago, for their valuable support.

Following this, a particularly touching moment featured Monica Feroldi, the mother of a boy who participates in the "Dopo di Noi" project promoted by Magari Domani Onlus. Her words emphasized the importance of offering a dignified and secure future to young people with disabilities, reaffirming the social value of similar initiatives.

Exceptional Presence

Enhancing the evening, the presence in the hall of Elda Olivieri, voice actress, actress, and narrator, and the singer Nausicaa Nisati. With their contribution, both added depth and intensity to the musical tribute dedicated to Edith Piaf and the important purpose of the Festival.

The magic of Edith Piaf lives on

The musical evening was a tribute to Edith Piaf, the timeless symbol of French chanson, with a repertoire that embraced her most iconic songs. The trio composed of Susanna Zucchelli (vocals), Alessandro Grosso (accordion), and Roberto Talamona (guitar) enchanted the audience with intense and refined performances of songs such as La vie en rose, L’homme à la moto, Milord, Les feuilles mortes, Non, je ne regrette rien, and many others.

The musicians' interpretation captured the essence of the singer, evoking timeless emotions. Each song was met with thunderous applause, culminating in an encore enthusiastically requested by those present.

A Special Farewell

At the end of the evening, Giovanni Tommasi invited the audience to the eighth and final concert of the Reviviscenze Musicali series, scheduled for Saturday, December 14 at 9:00 PM at the Church of SS. Pietro e Paolo in Daverio. Entitled Christmas Carol, the Christmas concert will feature the choir Sine Nomine, conducted by Maestro Giuseppe Reggiori.

The evening in Sumirago demonstrated how music can be a powerful vehicle to celebrate universal values and raise awareness on important issues. With La vie en rose, the audience found an opportunity to reflect, be moved, and be carried away by the beauty of music.
