Large turnout for the first event of the 7th edition of the series, renewed and entrusted to the artistic direction of Maestro Davide Lucio Cervi.

The new season could not have started better. On Sunday 27 September the Church of Santa Maria Annunciata in Brunello was packed for the opening concert of Risonanze Musicali, the new name that from this year accompanies the 7th edition of the series promoted by ARTandCHARITY O.D.V.

On the program was the "Concert for Brother Francis", a tribute in music and words to the Saint of Assisi in the year in which eight hundred years since his death are being commemorated. On stage, five performers of great sensitivity: Francesco Postorivo on violin, Davide Lucio Cervi on cello, the tenor Riccardo Renna, Roberto Bacchini on piano and Marco Rodio as narrator.

A path of renewal

Opening the concert was the association's president, Giovanni Tommasi, who did not hide his emotion. He thanked the audience, Mayor Andrea Dall'Osto and Don Aldo and Don Gianni for their hospitality. He then spoke about the work behind this new season: a complex and demanding renewal, built patiently through the many meetings of the board, to arrive at a proposal that promises to be truly exciting.

The president recalled that all this is possible thanks to the companies in the "Friendly Company" program, whose support makes the association's activity tangible. He then thanked the audience present and also those from past editions. In fact, it is the donations collected during the concerts that support the association's social projects, and in particular, for five years now, the "After Us" project of the Cooperativa Magari Domani Onlus of Gazzada Schianno. Every applause, every presence, thus also becomes a gesture of solidarity.

The Mayor’s greeting

Then Mayor Andrea Dall'Osto spoke, addressing words of great appreciation to the association. He stressed the value of its commitment to the community, both culturally and socially, and recalled the steady cooperation that for some time has linked the Municipal Administration and ARTandCHARITY. His remarks were met by the audience with a long and heartfelt applause.

Music takes the floor

Maestro Davide Lucio Cervi then introduced the series and the musicians, thanking everyone for the warmest welcome. From that moment on, music spoke.

Piece after piece, the dialogue between the instruments, the tenor’s voice and the narration created an intimate, intense atmosphere. The audience listened in engaged silence, struck by the beauty of the pages performed and the quality of the execution. Many did not hide their emotion, and more than one face, at the end, had teary eyes.

The encore and the applause

The audience insistently asked for an encore, clear proof of a hugely successful musical day. The farewell came amid long, warm applause that seemed never to end: the most heartfelt greeting to those who gave such an intense afternoon.

Upcoming dates

Risonanze Musicali has got off to a great start and the series’ journey has only just begun. The next date is Sunday 11 October at 5:00 pm in Brunello, at Le Cascine di S. Maria, with "Jazz Landscapes".

Here is the concert calendar:

For the first four concerts admission is free, with a donation in support of the association’s social projects.
